
Established on June 23, 1919, Orel State University (OSU) is a multidisciplinary flagship institution in the Orel region. It evolved from a higher pedagogical institute and was transformed into a classical university in 1996. Today, OSU encompasses a broad range of academic programs across medicine, engineering, natural sciences, humanities, and more.
OSU comprises 22 institutes/faculties and runs 297 educational programs, staffed by around 940 teachers (including 180 Doctors of Sciences and 807 Candidates of Sciences). It has 9 dormitories, 16 academic buildings, a clinic, ice palace, sports center, swimming pool, a fundamental library, and specialized centers for innovation, translation, research, and volunteer activities.
Approximately 19,000 students from 55–62 countries study here, with about 1,800–2,000 international students. The university has earned national and international recognition through Erasmus, DAAD, Jean Monnet, WorldSkills Russia, and strong collaborations with institutions in France, Germany, Italy, USA, and India.
- Must be 17 years or older by 31 December of admission year.
- Should have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- Must score at least 50% in PCB subjects.
- NEET qualification required for Indian students.
