Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) in Batumi, Georgia, traces its origins to a boys’ gymnasium founded in 1897, became a Teachers’ Institute in 1935, and was granted full university status in 1990. Named after Georgia’s revered poet Shota Rustaveli, BSU serves as the region’s premier public university offering a wide range of programs, including a 6-year MBBS/MD track.

The International Faculty of Medicine at BSU operates globally-recognized clinical programs, offers instruction entirely in English, and maintains early clinical exposure at affiliated hospitals.
