
Asian Medical Institute (ASMI), also known as S. Tentishev Asian Medical Institute, is a private medical university located in Kant, Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 2004 and is officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan. The university offers both 5-year and 6-year MBBS (MD) programs entirely in English and is one of the most affordable and accessible institutions for international students.
ASMI is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), National Medical Commission (NMC) of India, ECFMG, FAIMER, and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. The university has more than 4,000 students, with a large community of Indian and South Asian students, and partners with multiple hospitals for clinical training from Year 3 onwards.
The university focuses on building strong foundational knowledge in medicine along with practical clinical skills. Indian faculty are also present to help students prepare for licensing exams like FMGE/NExT and USMLE.
- Must be 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year
- Completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
- Minimum 50% marks in PCB (40% for reserved categories)
- NEET qualification is mandatory for Indian students
- Required documents: Passport, 10th and 12th mark sheets, NEET scorecard (for Indian students), medical fitness certificate (including HIV test), and passport-sized photographs
- Hostels: Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels with triple-sharing rooms, attached bathrooms, common kitchens, Wi‑Fi, laundry, and security
- Indian Mess: On-campus canteen run by Indian chefs serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals three times a day
- Clinical Training: Starts from the 3rd year in 8+ affiliated hospitals in Kant and Bishkek
