Wenzhou Medical University was founded in Hangzhou in the year 1912. The University is ranked as the 18th medical school among the top medical schools in China. In the year 2015, the employment satisfaction rate was ranked the 2nd place among the graduates and the 5th place among the employers in China.
WMU embraces internationalization in the course of its development. It has established partnerships with over 80 universities and institutions all across the globe, collaborating in scholar/student exchanges, joint education programs, joint research, etc. Two Confucius Institutes have been co-established with Burapha University in Thailand and SUNY College of Optometry respectively.

STUDENT LIFE
Wenzhou Medical University has about 66 students’ associations in total. There are 12 associations which have credit systems, 4 provincial excellent associations, and several municipal excellent associations. The University annually celebrates culture festivals, sports culture festivals and other activities.
