Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, located in Moscow, is one of Russia’s oldest and most prestigious medical schools. Established in 1906 as the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute, it achieved “National Research University” status in 2010 and was later renamed in honor of the famed surgeon Nikolay Pirogov.
