
Semey State Medical University was established in 1953 as a medical institute and later became a university in Semey, Kazakhstan. Known for being the top-ranked medical university in the country, it operates through a public-private model and hosts its own university hospital with branches in Pavlodar and Ust‑Kamenogorsk. The university offers a full 6‑year MBBS program (5 years academics + 1 year internship) conducted entirely in English, alongside instruction in Russian and Kazakh.
It serves approximately 6,000 students, including more than 500 Indian students, and employs around 400 faculty members who lead instruction across multiple disciplines.
- Must be 17 years or older by 31 December of the admission year
- Completion of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
- Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB (40–45% for reserved categories)
- NEET qualification is mandatory for Indian students
- Documents required: Passport, 10th & 12th mark sheets, NEET result (for Indian students), medical fitness certificate (including HIV report), and passport-sized photos
- Hostels: Separate male/female dorms with furnished rooms, shared kitchens, laundry, Wi‑Fi, and 24/7 security
